The Yamaha G2 Grand Piano is a mid-sized “baby grand” piano known for its balance of compact size and professional sound.

A Yamaha G2 is designed for homes, studios, and small performance spaces. It offers a clear, well-balanced tone, responsive action, and strong build quality typical of Yamaha’s Japanese craftsmanship. Produced roughly between the 1960s and 1990s, it’s a popular pre-owned model that delivers rich bass, bright treble, and reliable tuning stability in a manageable size.

Refurbishing works carried out:

Casework polishing, soundboard bleaching to restore colour, all new bass strings and treble strings along with new tuning pins. The piano has also had new key bushings, felts under the keys, brass polishing and refacing of the hammers. The keytops have also been polished. All in all this piano has had around £3000 worth of work to bring it to a like new condition.

Action Regulation Specs:

Key dip: 10.5mm.

Let off: 2mm with 3mm in the bass

Blow distance: 45mm
